Renting a Car in Costa Rica is easy, all you need is a valid drivers licence and a credit card. We recommend purchasing the full coverage insurance package. It is less expensive than you would think and relieves you of having to worry about anything happening to the car during your stay here.
Renting a 4 wheel drive model is also recommended when applicable. As you never know what you might get yourself into while exploring some of the back roads.
